Pre-Op Information...

Today we went for Avery's pre-op... she now weighs 10 lbs and 5 ounces. : ) The doctor said she was a very healthy baby. Avery has to be at Scottish Rite in the morning (10-1-08) at 6:45 am and her surgery is scheduled for 8:45 am. I did not realize that she would not be able to have any formula after 12 am tonight... : ( this really concerns me since Avery eats about every 2-3 hours, they did say she could have clear pedilite... I had a taste of that and I don't think that will go over real well but if she is thirsty she can have that until 4:45 am.

We did get the date for the surgery on her lip it will be November 3, 2008... Every little step gets us closer to the end. : )

Surgery Update...

We received a call from Scottish Rite on Friday that Avery's appliance was ready and they scheduled her first surgery for Wednesday October 1, 2008. The appliance will go in the top of her mouth and this will bring her gums closer together so when they fix her lip it will make things easier on the surgeon. Avery will go on Tuesday for a physical and pre-op and then on Wednesday for surgery. They will put Avery under with a local anesthetic and she will have to stay one night at the hospital. The appliance will stay in 4-5 weeks and then they will repair her lip and the appliance will come out at that time. Please just keep us in your prayers and I will update you as soon as I can.

Milestones...

The last few weeks have been busy with the loss of Phillip's dad, I had a birthday and today we celebrated our anniversary. I turned the big 40 on my birthday and still find that hard to believe. Today we celebrated 17 years of marriage and I love Phillip more today than ever. We went to dinner Saturday night and our good friend Mary came over to watch Avery for us, this was a first for us, leaving her with anyone other than my mom... we were gone a total of 1 1/2 hours, kind of funny. I just felt like something was missing and I guess it was... AVERY. : ) Today at church we had our 7th annual homecoming... so as you can see quite a few things going on. I usually try to leave the blog to just Avery but today I just wanted to add a few more things, hope you don't mind. I have watched God work so much in our life over the last 17 years and find that without Him our life would have been so hard at times. God has blessed me with the most amazing man that ever walked, he has the heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, he is the most amazing father he always wants to be hands on with Avery and just a part of everything with her. I thank God for putting Phillip into my life he is my rock and my strength he keeps me grounded... I could go on and on but lets just say "I LOVE HIM".

I thank God for the 40 years he has given me and for the most amazing family anyone could ever ask for. I would not be who I am today if it was not for my dad, mom and sister... they truly inspire me. Avery... what can I say... SHE IS AMAZING!!! I love this baby and now I see why we went through 16 yrs of marriage wanting a child and not understanding why God did not have one in our plan...He had the perfect one already picked out for us and we just had to wait for His timing, boy was it worth the wait. I am so glad you guys read our blog with us I do enjoy updating it. Please don't forget to leave us your comments, we love to read them. I love this picture of Phillip and Avery ( Avery's hair is so dark you can not see her head)... This was taken at Phillip's dad's house. Phillip's dad has a pond in his back yard and Phillip stood Avery on it, this really shows how small she is. oh the love between a father and daughter. I just love these two so much.

Giggles...

Last night we had to go to Phillip's dads to get some things packed... Phillip's aunt Virginia came over, Avery started laughing at Virginia. Avery done this the other night for Phillip it was the first time and then she done it for me this morning. This is priceless.

Head Held High...

Avery is holding her head up so good now... When we lay her on her tummy she looks around for a long time. The above picture shows her holding her head up.

Sleeping Angel...

I think this picutre is so sweet... Avery was playing and when I finally put her in her swing she fell asleep. You can see in the picture that she has one foot out and on her lap is her Pacifier (she has her hand resting on that) and her Wubba Nub frog. "Can't get enough of this precious little girl"

"Happy Avery"... The way she is sitting makes her face look so chubby and she does not have a chubby face. Everyone always says her face is chubby when they see pictures but when you see her face to face you can see that she is so tiny. : )

Forever Family...

We finally had our picture taken as a family. I have a ton of pictures of Avery, Phillip & Avery but we did not have a good picture of us as a family. We took this in Phil's (Phillip's dad) back yard. It still has not hit me completely that we are a family. God is so good and Avery was worth the wait.

Calling WV...

Every night my mom will call me from WV... My dad, mom and aunt Jenn want to hear Avery cry or talk and they want to talk to her ( my mom "mimi" sings to Avery) so we put the phones on speaker and away we go. The other night Avery was playing on her mat and talking to pappy, mimi and Aunt Jenn like crazy. In the one picture she put her hand on the phone, it wont be long and she will be picking it up on her own... We love you pappy, mimi and aunt Jenn.

Shot Time... 2 Month Exam

Avery had her 2 month check up with Dr. Miller yesterday (9-15-08)... This was not fun. Dr, Miller said everything looked good and Avery was growing, she weighed 9 lbs. 14 oz. and was 23 1/4 in long... Then came the shots. : ( Avery had to get 3 shots with a needle and one oral shot, it broke my heart. Avery was laughing and smiling and then all of the sudden a loud scream and the tears were flowing, what made it so bad the nurse wanted to give Avery her oral shot first but forgot so by the time the shots with the needle were over we could not calm Avery down so she almost did not get her oral shot down. She is doing fine she wants to be held and loved on today so that is what we have done. Here are a few pictures...

Thank You Aunt Jenn...

Avery with her doll... The face lights up on this doll and it plays "You Are My Sunshine"... Avery loves this doll, she just looks at it and smiles when I push the tummy to make it sing. (Aunt Jenn can you read Avery's bib... "My Aunt Loves Me")

Avery recieved a package with her name on it from her aunt Jenn... Aunt Jenn shopped online at Kohls and Old Navy for Avery and sent her 2 packages addressed to her. Thank you aunt Jenn for everything.

1st Time In The Nursery...

Today was the first Sunday I put Avery in the nursery... I felt sad, but knew it was time. She did great and slept most of the time. Here are a few pictures of her with Ms. Patricia in the nursery at our church. My baby is growing up. (Faye, Avery is wearing the dress that you guys gave her, she looked so cute in it)

Friday Favorites...

Today I am dedicating "Friday Favorites" to Phillip's dad and Avery's poppy... Phil Sr. Phil has been fighting cancer for sometime now and on Wednesday morning September 10, Phil went home to be with the Lord. So today we celebrate Phil... Phil loved Avery so much!!!

Can't Do A Thing With My Hair...

I get so tickeled with Avery's hair... It does not matter how much I try to get it to stay down in the back, it just will not stay. I have tried product in her hair and the only time it will stay down is when it is wet, but I love it because it is her own little fashion statement. :)

This picuture is a little extreme... Phillip was running his fingers through Avery's hair and pulling it up at the same time and this is how crazy it turned out... As he was doing this, Avery was just smiling so big.



After Phillip made her have crazy hair, he brushed it for her and she loves that. : ) What a sweet daddy.

2 Months's and 3 Days...

Look at how much she has changed and her hair just keeps growing and growing. I love that I can get a bow to stay in her hair now. : )

Avery is now 2 months old... I can not believe how much she is growing and how she is changing. We went for a visit to Dr. Millers's office yesterday and she weighed 9 lbs. 15 ounces almost 10 lbs. and she was 23 1/4 long, WOW. Her are a few pictures taken at Phillip's dad's over the weekend.
