Friday Favorites...(surgery update)

I love this picture... Avery is holding Phillip's finger while she drinks her bottle.
This picture cracks me up... Ms. Sherri Hudgins bought these crocs for Avery and she looks so cute in them. : )

Avery sleeping in her crib... I love how her legs are tucked under her and she has her bottom up in the air. What a sweet baby.

Surgery Update...

I wanted to let everyone know that Avery will have her next surgery on Monday (November 3). This surgery... they will remove her appliance (praise the Lord) and repair her lip and gum and put tubes in her ears. Please keep us in your prayers and I will keep you posted as soon as I can get to email of phone.

Pumpkin Patch...

Phillip and Avery checking out pumpkins.

Avery and I in front of the pumpkin display.

We found the perfect pumpkin.

Avery with her little pumpkin and the pumpkin face before carving the big pumpkin.
I love this picture because she is smiling.

Phillip and Avery carving the pumpkin.

Avery with our finished pumpkin... Great job daddy.

Phillip and I took Avery to get her first pumpkin. I think traditions are so important even if Avery won't remember this year she will be able to look back at the pictures and see that we went to get a pumpkin each year. It was so windy the day we went to pick out a pumpkin but we had a great time. After we got home and Avery took her bath, Phillip started to carve the pumpkin... Phillip is very traditional on his pumpkin carving skills. : ) I love it!!!! Avery had on her pumpkin PJ's and her "baby's first halloween" bib. Stay tuned for upcoming pictures of Avery's halloween costumes.

Love this picture... this is the back of Avery's pj's

Happy Halloween. : )

Halloween Present...

Pappy and MiMi bought Avery a Halloween present... at first this was an early Christmas present (ha ha) according to MiMi, but after pappy and mimi discussed it they decided it would be a Halloween present. Jennifer and I laughed at this one, we NEVER got halloween presents growing up.

Make sure you notice the book under her feet, she is still not tall enough to touch on her own. : ) She loves her new toy and I am sure we will have so much fun. Thanks Pappy and MiMi for my halloween present, I am sure this will be a yearly tradition. : )

Friday Favorites...

We went to eat after church on Sunday and Avery fell asleep in the car... she grabbed her little toy and she held on to this toy until after we got home. I just thought this picture was so sweet.

Avery has a frog that Phillip's aunt Virginia gave her and if you sqeeze the foot it makes a lauging sound. Avery loves this frog and you see how she has it sitting on her tummy she tries to put the frogs nose, foot or hand in her mouth.

I just had to add this picture because my husband is the best. I have been trying to keep everything in order and sometimes the time just does not allow for me to get everything done. Avery had two doctors appointments on Tuesday and we were gone most of the day. When I came home Phillip folded all of the laundry and he stacked all of Avery's little clothes up and put them in her room. I just thought this was so sweet and when I seen all of her little things folded and stacked so neatly I just had to take a picture.

House Divided...

UGA or WVU??? That is the question. : ) Growing in WV, I was not a huge sports fan but when I met Phillip the world of sports entered my life. Phillip is a die hard UGA fan and I just like WVU because that is the state I grew up in and remember WVU did beat Georgia in the Sugar Bowl game a few years back, that is when I really jumped on the band wagon as Phillip would say. We love to have fun talking about how much Avery will love UGA or will she love WVU. I think her daddy will be ok if she cheers for WV as long as they are not playing UGA and she decides UGA will be her college of choice. You pick WVU or UGA???
Now that is a proud daddy, his baby girl is wearing UGA.

Mama likes the WVU bib much better. Thanks Uncle Trammell and Aunt Jeanie for the bib.

Just had to add this one because Avery is smiling and the picture is just so darn cute. The girl does not have a chance... She will love sports if her daddy has anything to do with it, they already watch football, baseball and everyday they have to watch Sports Center together. She is wearing Phillips "Braves" hat in this picture.

Getting So Big...

Avery playing with her red bird on her baby Einstein mat and grabbing her foot at the same time.
Avery setting in her Bumbo seat and looking so pretty. : )

Avery on Phillip's lap laying with her head toward his feet, she can get in some crazy positions.

Each day we see something new that Avery is doing... She loves to pull on her Baby Einstein toys and she loves to hold her feet at the same time. If I put socks on her feet, she now takes them off. : ) She is now rolling onto her side and she is almost rolling onto her tummy, can't wait to see this happen. She is getting so big, she is truly our blessing from God.

Friday Favorites...

Phillip is always coming up with creative ways to entertain Avery... Here she is in a basket of of clean laundry, she is laughing like crazy.
Avery playing on her Baby Einstein mat... she is holding her foot with one hand and her bird rattle with the other. Avery loves to play on her mat.

She loves to have her head hanging off of something... her tummy pillow or our legs.

Avery will kill me one day for this picture... she fell asleep in my arms and I put her in the swing and this is how she laid until she woke up from her nap. : )

Post Surgery Update...

We are all home and Avery is doing good. We arrived home yesterday (10/2/08) around 12 pm. Avery was a real fighter and she pulled through problem free... We arrived at the hospital at 6:32am on Wednesday and Avery was so quiet, now remember the last time she had formula was at midnight, she did take the pedilyte up until 4:45am. I know prayer is what brought us through that time because like I said before Avery eats every 2-3 hours. When Avery finally had to drink the pedilyte I told her... I know your Aunt Jenn has been up all night praying for you and when I talked to my mom she said Jennifer had prayed for Avery all night and she put a book in a position that in case she fell asleep her hand would move and the book would drop and she would wake up. What a wonderful sister and aunt. We waited in a room for the nurse to come take Avery to surgery and they finally arrrived at around 8:20am. Avery had just fell asleep after fussing just a little because she wanted a bottle. Todd, our youth pastor was there with us and he prayed over Avery before they took her down. The nurse called to let us know that Avery was out of surgery so we headed upstairs... when we opened the door to go back to the rooms Todd said, hold on I see a baby with black hair and I as soon as I heard her crying I went right in the direction and started calling Avery's name and she stopped crying when she heard my voice, boy was that the most amazing feeling to know that I comforted her that quick. I will never forget that moment when Todd spotted Avery... the only thing you could see was the hospital bed (full size) with this tiny little black head peeping out. I wanted to cry when they put her in my arm because she was crying so hard and so much that she could not get her breath at times and this made me hurt so much. You could see Phillip and I just passing looks back and forth between each other... like what have we done. Avery done so good for someone that just had a major surgery, he mouth is full of this appliance, we could not get her normal bottle in her mouth at first, but we are working on it... we had to go back to the old bottle that she used when she was born. It just breaks my heart when I look inside her mouth, it just looks so painful. The night was not bad at all... Avery was on Tylenol with Codine and she did pretty good, just fussy sometimes, but slept on and off for most of the night. Yesterday was tough she was very fussy and just not happy at all about the appliance and not being able to get her bottle comfortable. I know she was very sore. Today is much better I feel like my baby is back and on the road to being her happy little self... It was so hard when we could not get her to smile at us, she ALWAYS smiles. She is smiling today and playing a little, she is even talking about something and she just goes on and on, I think she is letting us know that she was not happy with the surgery. : ) I am adding a few pictures... We just want to thank you ALL SO MUCH for your prayers, I have called on God so much and I know He has been in control and with us every step of the way. I was not sure if I posted this but... Her lip surgery is on November 3, 2008.

Avery and Phillip in the waiting room at Scottish Rite... Waiting for surgery.

Avery with her tiny hospital arm band on.

Just after surgery... breaks my heart. You can see on her left arm they have her hooked to an IV.

Avery with her daddy resting after surgery.

This a little picture of the appliance... you can see the screw that we have to start tightening on Saturday 10-4-08.. we have to turn one full turn each day this will pull her gums closer together, this makes surgery easier for the plastic surgeon.

I just love this picture that is why I posted it... Avery is laying on Phillip and the cord is between her toes, it does not bother her a bit. : ) She know her daddy has her and all is right in the world at that moment.
