Avery Update...

Love this picture... look at that belly.

We are on the road to feeling much better! Avery is eating and drinking much better!! Fever is gone!! I took her outside to play today and she took a 3 hour nap! Thank you everyone for your prayers and all your comments on our blog! Love you All!!!

Fever of 105...Oh My

Avery gave us a scare on Friday evening. She had not felt well on Thursday and on Friday she run a temp all day from 100-101. I called Dr. Miller at 4:15 and they told me to watch her temp and if it was still the same in the morning I could take her to the on call doctor. Around 6:00 pm on Friday I took her temp and it was 102.5, this concerned. I was really thinking she was teething but Dr. Miller's office said they usually don't see teething temp go up to 101, they usually stay low like 99-100. Phillip and I decided to take Avery to the ER...we took her to our local ER, we really didn't think we had any reason to be alarmed. I fed Avery on the way and she ate. When we arrived at the ER, they took her back to triage and when they took her temp it was 105.2, I looked at Phillip and he looked at me and we both had fear in our eyes. I wanted to tell the lady, "you need to re-take her temp, that's not correct". Almost immediately after they took Avery's temp she started to get sick, it was all over me and her and it was everything she had just ate. I felt helpless. : ( The nurse left the room and came back to tell us they were getting a room for Avery but had to move someone out in order to take her back. They started her off with a dose of Tylenol and then came all the tests...blood work, urine test, x-rays. All tests came back normal. It was determined Avery has a viral infection. When we left the ER her temp was still 102.5. We got home around 1am and Avery went to sleep, but at 4 am she woke up and her temp was back up to 104.5. We called the on-call doctor for Dr. Miller and he told us to take her to Children's Heathcare so off we went at 4:30am. OK... we learned our lesson on the ER we will always take Avery to the children's hospital, the bedside manner was so good and when we left there our minds were at ease. They more or less told us this would just have to take it's coarse. Please keep Avery in your prayers as we work through this rough patch. She is home and resting.

Pappy & MiMi gave Avery a new pool for her birthday and it is much bigger (Phillip & I can even get in it... I WILL NOT BE POSTING THOSE PICTURES ha ha) I love this bathing suit Avery has on (thanks Kenny & Faith). We had a ball in the pool.

The next 5 pictures are Avery with her gift from pappy & mimi... Avery loves Elmo, and now she has "Elmo Live". We looked at Elmo every time we went to Walmart and she would just smile and hug him, so this is what pappy & mimi gave her.


This picture above is priceless... she had not looked back at pappy & mimi but for some reason she just kept looking back and smiling at them... almost like she knew they had given her "Elmo". This just melted their hearts and my heart.

Happy 1st Birthday Avery...

Our baby girl turned "ONE" today. We are in WV visiting my family, so I am behind on posting. I have pictures to post but will wait until I get home to download. We had our 21st family and friends reunion on July 4th. The day was just beautiful, not to hot and a nice breeze all day... the kids had a moon bounce to jump in, went swimming, played games and ended the evening with fireworks.
Pappy and MiMi gave Avery her first birthday party... we had a princess/Elmo party. Avery had a great time with her family and all her cousins. We had a Elmo pinata, princess cake, good food and fellowship.
It's hard to believe Avery is a year old. I think back to the day she was born and how excited and how nervous we were. She was our dream come true the baby we had waited 17 years for and now she has been our sunshine for a year. God is so amazing and I thank Him for what he has done for us over the year, with all of Avery's surgeries and the smooth adoption process. It's hard to believe that we waited so many years to adopt and when we decided to start the adoption with Bethany Christian Services in August 2007, on July 6, 2008 at 12:45 pm we had our beautiful baby girl. Avery Marie. God is so good!!! We love you Avery!!!

Friday Favorites...

Avery went swimming in a big pool and had a great time!!! She LOVES to kick her feet and splash, she really has no fear of water... that makes daddy so proud!!!

I have been falling behind on my posts... no excuse good enough except I now have a walking child. : ) Life is so full of chasing, playing and saying "no Avery"... I LOVE IT!!!!!!!

This picture cracks me up, I have to chuckle every time I look at it... she can barely see over the steering wheel. CUTE!!

Avery is walking!!! She waited for MiMi to get here on Friday (6-12-09) and she took off. We have been helping her walk and she was taking a few steps on here own but now she is walking... Enjoy the video.
