MiMi's Visit...

MiMi came to visit us (Avery ha ha ) from WV. We had the best visit with my mom, she is so amazing!!! I can only hope that I will be half the mom to Avery that my mommy is to Jennifer and I. MiMi spent the week with us and left yesterday (her birthday Aug. 28th... Happy Birthday) to fly back to WV. MiMi found out that she had a weeks vacation that she had to take by the end of the month and she bought a plane ticket to come to GA to see us.

My mom is the best, every night she would stay with Avery until about 2am and let me get some rest and then she would get up early and make me take a nap. Each day she made me breakfast (Phillip too) and every night she cooked for us and I am here to tell you she cooked big meals. : ) Thank you so much mommy, there are not enough words to tell you thanks and to tell you how much I love you. Avery will miss your singing. : ) I love you mommy!!!!!!!!

Blog Award...

I am giving the "blog award" to... Karin F. Karin is the one who inspired me to start blogging. She is someone that I have only met through the world of email and blogging. Karin has 2 adopted children and is waiting on her 3rd child... I have read their blog since around 2004. Karin is faithful to her blogging and she posts something every day about her children... that is so amazing and she inspires me to continue to blog as much as I can about Avery. Congrats Karin.

Day at BJ's...

Avery took her first trip to BJ's Warehouse today. MiMi, Avery and I went to BJ's today to stock up on stuff. Avery did such a good job, she was the perfect child she did not ask for one thing while we were in the store. (HA HA we know this won't last long : )


Avery is now picking up her pacifier on her own... MiMi discovered her doing this while she was getting her diaper changed today. Here is a few pictures below that I took of her holding her pacifier.

Friday Favorites...

Avery can not keep a pacifier in her mouth yet, so the feeding team at Scottish Rite told us about the "Wubba Nub" http://www.snugglewraps.com/topic.asp?pid=39 The little stuffed animal is heavy enough to put a little pressure on the pacifier so Avery can keep it in her mouth. The "Wubba Nub" is for children with cleft lips but can also be helpful for children without.

I love this picture of Cole and Avery... Cole had his eyes closed getting ready to kiss Avery and she is smiling up at him. Cole loves him some "baby Avery" as he calls her. Cole says "she is just so adorable"

The Take Over...

I don't even know my own living room anymore... I was looking around today and I thought when did this happen. Our living room has been taken over by Avery's fun stuff. I feel like all I do is move it from one side of the room to the other but when I watch Avery having fun, it is all worth it. The picture below was taken over the weekend of Avery at her Poppy Phils house. Avery is getting so big and she is so active, she loves to kick her feet and when Phillip puts his hands under her feet she will stand up and push. She loves to look around at everything and just move those arms and legs. MeMe (WV) is coming this weekend to spend time with the 3 of us and we can't wait... hurry MeMe.

I just had some pictures that I love and wanted to add them to our blog. Avery is growing so much and changing her looks too.
Yesterday I gave my job notice that I would not be returning to work. I have been with the company for 3 years and love my job, but things have changed so much and it is time to move onto the next part of this amazing journey God has given us. I will miss my job and the people I work with, but you can not put a price tag on watching Avery grow up, I don't want to miss a thing. So here we go moving forward with God's plan. I am so glad you are all taking this journey with us.

Avery's New Stroller

Avery's Pappy and MiMi in WV bought her a new stroller so during our stay at the lake Phillip put it together and we went for a stroll. Avery loved the walk and looked around at everything, we are going to have so much fun with our new stroller. Thanks Pappy and MiMi we love it and we love you!!

Weekend at The Lake...

We spent the weekend at Lake Altoonia. Phillip's Aunt Virginia has a cabin at the lake so we decided to go for the weekend. We relaxed and played with Avery all weekend, the cabin has no TV and I have to say that was nice for a change and great bonding time. Life Is Good...

Avery went to her first picnic on August 2, 2008. Kenny and Faith (friends of ours from church) are getting married this month and we attended a shower in honor of them. Avery is wearing her "Life is Good " dress that Kenny, Faith, Mary (GG) and Margaret gave her, on the front it has "Sweet Pea". Good luck Kenny and Faith we love you guys.

Buy Me Something...

Avery received this card in the mail today from her Uncle Trammell and Aunt Jeanie who live in WV... The Target gift card for $15.00 says... "Avery, Tell Mommy and Daddy "Buy Me Somthing". This is her Aunt Jeanie's famous quote and my sister Jennifer and I are also famous for it now too, aunt Jeanie trained us well... Aunt Jeanie wants to start Avery off early. The Walmart gift card above the Target card was also from Aunt "J" and uncle "T" it was sent to Avery when daddy and mommy came to visit, it was for $ 10.00 and it says... "Avery, Tell mommy to take you to Walmart & buy you a little something." This just cracks me up since she is only 4 weeks old and I know this is only the beginning. : ) Thanks Uncle Trammell and Aunt Jeanie we love you!!!!!! p.s. We will be going to both places to buy this baby something. : )

Adoption Ceremony...

We had our adoption ceremony at Bethany Christian Services ( our adoption agency ) on Wednesday July 30, 2008. The ceremony was very emotional and intimate with Phillip's dad, Phillip's aunt Virginia, Debra, Jess (good friends of the family) my dad and mom and Elizabeth our adoption specialist. I was so thankful everyone could be there and join us in this celebration. We all had a chance to record something to Avery on the video camera and we all were very emotional, we took lots of pictures.

Almost Heaven WV...

Avery's Pappy and MiMi (my daddy & mommy : ) from WV met their beautiful grandbaby this week and it was love at first site on all ends. Through the tears my mommy said "oh my goodness she is so tiny". They too have waited on and prayed for this beautiful child for the last 17 years. Avery loves to lay on her pappy's chest and nuzzle his neck and she laid on her MiMi's shoulder but ended up moving herself around to lay side ways on her chest. : ) We had such a wonderful visit, we didn't even leave the house. Avery loves her Pappy and MiMi...

Avery's Day of Fun...

Avery has a new play mat that her Great Grandmother Wasson bought for her... Avery loves to lay on the floor and look around she kicks her feet and hands and loves this time by herself, she is very active for a 3 1/2 week old baby. Thanks Mom Wasson, we love you! Last visit to Scottish Rite, Avery weighed 7 lbs. 11 ounces.
